A 1960’s era primary school in Amsterdam that has been renovated by MOKE Architects. While retaining the original structure and using only simple means, LANDLAB was able to create a green and robust schoolyard. The children have the opportunity to learn and play both indoors and outdoors. The project adds a special note of sustainability to the neighborhood in terms of architecture and planting design with the public space being carefully designed to offer local residents a central meeting place. Most importantly, the schoolyard invites children to come and play.
